What this chat room is for

• OOC (Out of Character) Conversations
  • This chat room is for people from the Vore Community who enjoy the format of Yum Chat to be able to have a place they can chat with each other in OOC. It is to fill a need within the vore community that many people have requested in the past.
  • While this chat room is for the vore community, it does not mean that only vore can be discussed in here. Anything people wish to talk about is allowed in here (within the legal limits of such topics as child pornography or other criminal activity). The main purpose is for people to have a familiar place where they can meet with other vores and simply chat.
• Light goofing around
  • It is rare that people will have RL topics to discuss all the time. The interests of people in the chat room will vary greatly, even in the area of vore. So, it is not uncommon for people to pass the time by goofing around. This is okay, as long as it follows the rules below of what this chat room is not about.
  • Playful goofing around is a good way to meet others in the community when the OOC conversations have gone quite. It is also a good ice-breaker for people who are generally quiet when discussing RL topics. But remember that not everyone is interested in goofing around, so do not try to force such actions on anyone else.
    

What this chat room is NOT for

• No serious, detailed RPing
• This room is not a second Yum Chat. While people will often slip IC and goof around with each other when there are no OOC topics being discussed, this is not a place for playing out actual, detailed RPs.
• It is hoped that when the new server is configured, additional RP rooms will be set up to allow for both serious and non-serious RPing. The purpose of this chat room is for friendly conversations between people in this community, not for serious RPing.
• The main issue here is that people will often not talk OOC when an RP is taking place, which defeats the purpose of this room. There are many people in the community who do not wish to RP but enjoy the ability to chat with them. Please respect this desire and do not express frustration if the RP you are in is interrupted because of OOC chatting.
• No Adult content
  • This is not to stifle what people can talk about, but to make this chat room friendlier to everyone in the vore community. People are attracted to vore for various reasons and despite the adult nature of vore, some are uncomfortable with open discussions that have adult content.
• Sex/Yiffing
  • References to sex or yiffing is uncomfortable for many people to see in an OOC environment, and therefore needs to be limited, though not necessarily emilinated.
  • Vore is a fetish, and thus sexual in nature. Because of this, it is foolish to hide that fact, even in an OOC chat room. However, discussion of the sexual nature of vore is different from performing sexual acts. Therefore, it is requested that the performance of any sexual acts within any IC goofing around, be eliminated.
• Blood/Graphic Violence
  • While not normally considered as Adult when in print form, it is often offensive or disturbing to many people and is not to be presented within this chat room.
  • Vore itself is often violent in nature and so depiction of violence when discussing vore cannot be completely prohibited. But it is asked that making it graphic and descriptive be kept under control and to a minimum. Graphic descriptions are not necessary to get one's point across.
• Swearing
• Foul language is frowned upon, not because of any Adult themes, but because it is simply uncalled for and offensive to many people, whether adults or not. To keep this chat room in line with it's goal of being friendly to everyone in the vore community, it is asked that you refrain from swearing.
• No derogatory comments towards others
  • This room is for friendly conversations and not for arguements and insults. That is not to say that debates and heavier discussions are not allowed, but please keep everything civil and there will be no problems. Especially, do not bad mouth people who are not present to defend any accusations or comments made about them.
  • Respect the character choices of others. This is a fantasy fetish. None of it is real. So, if you do not like something about another player's character, that's your problem, not theirs. Negative comments about other player's characters, or telling them that something about their character is impossible, will not be tolerated. It is none of your business what type of character someone else wishes to play.
  • Fights between people will not be tolerated. In such situations, both parties will be asked to stop. Failure to do so will result in being kicked from the chat room until the individual has settled down. Kicking from the chat room will be based on an individual's actions in the chat room and not on 'who started it'. If you are told to stop and you fail to do so, you risk being kicked.
• No Armada of different characters
  • This is a chat room for chatting with others, and so there is no need to have all of your RP characters listed here. Because there is some IC goofing around that takes place, there is some freedom to having a couple of different characters, but please keep this to a minimum.
  • Along this same line, there is no need to include extensive details in your character description. It is usually more than enough to simply give a brief description of what your character is. People can ask you for more information, or you can include a link to a more detailed description, such as one you may use in Yum Chat.
  • While it is often a good idea to include your likes and dislikes in your description, in the hopes of attracting an RP partner, please keep any references to things that happened in RPs to your Yum Chat description and not the OOC room description. While in the OOC room, you should consider all events as having no relation to what might happen in the actual Yum Chat room.
• No RPing via the PM system
  • Trying to hide an RP by doing so via PMs is a quick way to get you kicked from the chat room. If you wish to RP with someone, go to Yum Chat or get an Instant Messenger. However, given that the non-PM posts made to this OOC room are less critical than non-PM posts made in the IC room, the PM system in here can be used for more extensive, private conversations of a non-RP sort. This allows people to converse privately with one another without the need to install a messenger program or give out contact information which you may currently be reluctant to give. But even here, abuse of the PM system will not be tolerated. This is still a public chat room and if the context of the conversation need not be private, then don't use the PM system.

Addition of Ops

Ops are a vital role to the smooth workings of a public chat room. They not only answer questions, but they help to maintain order in the face of disruptions and unwarranted behavior. The Ops that appear in this OOC room are the same Ops as you will find in Yum Chat. The reasoning is that an Op within one of the chats should be able to help resolve an issue in the other, if no other Ops are present in there.

• The purpose of the Ops
  • Maintain Order
    • If things become unruly, the Ops are authorized to step in and put a stop to any disruptive situations. Because debates and heavier discussions are allowed in this chat room, this can often lead to people becoming angry and non-civil with each other. This will not be tolerated here and all parties involved in these actions are to be considered as guilty, not just whoever started it.
  • Enforce Rules
    • The rules are in place to make the chat room as friendly as possible to all of the people within this community. When actions within the chat room risk driving people away, the Ops are authorized to put a stop to these actions. Anyone bothered by something happening within the chat room should tell an Op via a PM and let them determine if they need to step in.
  • Answer questions
  • The Ops are also here to help people who have any chat-related questions. If you are having problems with another person in the chat, or you wish to know if you are allowed to do something, do not be afraid to ask an Op, either publicly in the chat, or via the PM system.

The list of Ops for this room will likely change over time, as old Ops visit less frequently and new ones are required. This list currently consists of:

As with the main Yum Chat, this OOC room is not a secure form of communication. Although the option is disabled by default, Ops have the ability to view PMs in order to properly deal with disputes and problems. The purpose of the PM system is not to discuss personal information with others, but instead to allow for comments to be made that might be disruptive or inappropriate in public.

The selection of the Ops is based upon a person's frequency within the chat room, as well as a history of being calm and level-headed in the face of disruptive situations. It is also based on the Op's understanding of the need for an OOC chat room in for the vore community, and their desire to uphold that purpose of the room.

Because the rules are general in nature, they will be interpreted differently by each Op, based on the details of any given situation. Just because one Op is more lenient than another, does not mean it is always okay to do something. If an Op requests that you stop you current line of activity, you are required to listen to that Op.
